The average person does not buy from the shop regularly because the prices are ridiculous for a $45 dollar game. The in game store is a huge problem because it's target demographic is whales. Temtem is a live service game, it needs new content and new things to do if it wants to keep players' attention and time. its sad to see that the community feels smaller and less active since 1.0. As someone who has been very obsessed and active in this community since the kisiwa update. Even the showdown update didn't bring a substantial amount of people back into the game. Temtem is not a dead game, but the player count post 1.0 (from the data that we have) does not seem very positive for the future of the game. It's difficult to see your favorite game being taken over by greed instead of respecting its player base/consumers. I used to constantly be in the discord chatting with people about how great the game is and the potential it has and now I feel like all I do is complain about the current state of the game. I have personally seen myself go through every stage of a Temtem player. I did make a post on the forums with this too so hopefully someone from Crema sees this whether it's on reddit or the forums: Hello, I've been obsessively a part of the community since the EA kisiwa update and wanted to voice my opinions on the current state of the game coming into 2023 and what needs to change for the game to dig itself out of this hole it put itself in with the 1.0 update.
